SMEs are the major source of new innovative ideas in Europe, with an important potential for job creation, economic development and dynamism in Europe.
To achieve ESINET main objective a robust  list of services & activities was created to all members, taking into consideration:

  1. Networking as a key issue for the development of SMEs business services in the market of space technologies: ESINET community helps to establish strong and valuable business partnerships by fostering the exchange between ESINET members and their respective networks;
  2. In order to enable the creation and development of SMEs, incubators and business support organisations require opportunities for benchmarking & best practices to share experience, tools, data and know-how with similar structures all over Europe;
  3. Access to finance and legal advice: ESINET can help start-up companies to get access to finance, help them with IPR and legal matters and to organise and focus their marketing activities;
  4. Communication on a European and international level: ESINET offers its members visibility and state of the art information through publications, newsletters, an online platform with intranet facility, EU render watch, organization of promotion campaigns, press releases, others;
  5. ESINET organizes and manages several annual workshops, information/ training days and seminars as well as one high-profile annual conference.
  6. The network opens access to its members to international cooperation and European projects (i.e. KIS4SAT, INVESaT, NAVOBS PLUS, Detect-it 2, ...);
  7. ESINET represents their members' interests within stakeholder groups such as ESA, EU institutions, industry and national public institutions, promoting the importance of SMEs in space related science and technology to a broad public.
How to prepare a Networking/Partnering Proposal
ESA's Networking/Partnering Initiative (NPI) supports work carried out by universities and research institutes on advanced technologies with potential space applications, with the aim of fostering increased interaction between ESA, European universities, research institutes and industry.

Bring your app to the ESA Developper Lab Camp!
From 3 to 10 June 2013 the ESA is inviting 20 developers to its ESRIN location In fRascati in the framework of the ESA App Camp. The goal is to develop mobile apps using Earth monitoring data on smartphones, in particular by leveraging the possibilities offered by the European Earth observation programme GMES.
