KIS4SAT was a project funded by the European Commission until January 2011 which created a network to enabled entrepreneurs and Knowledge Intensive Services ventures of high growth potential to seize new market and access to finance opportunities in the field of satellite downstream applications (SATNAV, SATCom and Earth Observation).

The project KIS4SAT established a network of key innovation providers and key stakeholders with the support of two existing networks: ENCADRE, the European network of 20 regional clusters and ESINET the European Network of 27 Space Incubators along with the Consortium of 11 organisations, led by the European Business & Innovation Centre Network (EBN).

A specific support action which aimED at enhancing the readiness of SME users and their customers to incorporate GMES information into their working methods and decision-making processes. The project aimED to improve the participation of small and medium-sized enterprises in Research and Technology Development (RTD) activities related to the development of innovative services based on Space infrastructures.

The project will consolidate and disseminate in a coordinated way, the knowledge components that are required to stimulate and support more efficiently investments in innovative services which will make use of satellite capabilities in earth observation, navigation, timing, geo-positioning and telecommunications.

Bring your app to the ESA Developper Lab Camp!
From 3 to 10 June 2013 the ESA is inviting 20 developers to its ESRIN location In fRascati in the framework of the ESA App Camp. The goal is to develop mobile apps using Earth monitoring data on smartphones, in particular by leveraging the possibilities offered by the European Earth observation programme GMES.
